In Serbia, student protests
continue and intensify, with the goal of demanding new early
elections, which they had previously refused, rejecting the
president's repeated offers in this regard. According to media
reports, the movement is planning to form a political formation
that will participate in a national electoral consultation.
Vucic's reaction was swift, accusing the students of hypocrisy
for always supporting their alleged position outside of
politics, aimed at shedding full light on the tragedy of 16
deaths at the Novi Sad station in November, with the fight
against corruption and specific requests relating to their
educational conditions and subsidies. "But as we can see now,
this is all about pure politics," Vucic said, accusing the
protest movement of severely damaging the country's economy and
investment flow in recent months.
