Istat said Tuesday that contractual
wages were 8% lower in real terms in March 2025 compared to
January 2021.
The national statistics agency said the wage situations were
especially unfavourable in the private services and public
administration sectors, while the drops were lower than average
in agriculture and industry.
Istat said that, in March 2025, its hourly wage index was up by
0.4% on February and 4% on March last year.
